My sister, Jessica Nicole Corwin, is dead. She was 27 years old, and I will miss her for the rest of my life, howsoever long.
I have my own struggles, but in this I am secure and hope to help. For my dear friends, remember that you aren’t any of the labels you find yourselves attached to. You’re not an orientation, or a gender, a job, a relationship, an ideology, or a socioeconomic class. These things affect us, and can change our whole lives, for worse or better, but they aren’t who we are. You’re the one citizen of an invisible country, wearing the flag of a nation that has never existed before. The glorious empire of yourself, a dominion that has no creed, no culture, no laws, no pre-existing roles until you make it so. You are the only one who can decide what the traditions of your homeland are. What beliefs and rituals define a ‘normal’ day, the words to describe a person and their identity. We are all of us refugees. Far from home, living in alien conditions not of our choosing. These conditions may be good or bad, confusing or helpful, the language expressive or confining. This is not who you are. It’s simply where you are. We may none of us get home, but we always have the luxury of deciding where home is and what it looks like, sounds like, feels like.
Tell me of your homeworld, Usul. I wish I could see you all living exactly as you want to live, in a home so perfectly familiar, not because you remember it, but because it is as you chose it to be.

On February 26th, mods on 4chan began the final phase of a losing battle. They were saging, and sinking, and deleting threads that mentioned a scourge invading all chans and threads. It had begun in /co/, but quickly spread to almost every part of 4chan and associated IRC channels, generating more complaints than any phenomena since the Boxxy spammers of 2009. Mods implemented keyword auto-bans, began automatically parsing image links from previous threads, and other attempts to control the flood. Eventually, they were forced to concede with an attempt at a settlement, an olive branch extended via sticky note, offering to stop the attempt to ban and kick the posters, if they would only remain in their own threads, and not make the hardened channers of /b/ and other communities so uncomfortable. Recently I've been concerned that I've been putting time into projects in ratios counter to my priorities. So I took my off hours time and some calculations, and wrote out my top few projects in hours per week.
CRASHspace/RadioMondays 8hours LiveActionLife 4hours Aesir Academia 4hours toydecider 1hours holonic simulation 1hours rationalizer 1hours aaattention 1hours
I'm hoping to get or make a good timeclock to make sure I keep track, and adjust my hours in ratio for weeks with more or less off-time. We'll see how this goes! Thu, Jan. 27th, 2011, 01:44 pm
New Years Eve. So, it is the fashion to reflect and project today. My 2010 was pretty great, I thought. It's been a good year at a2i2/ SmartAction, we're making money and deploying customers. If I haven't been able to do as much AI research as I'd like, it's balanced by the knowledge that my work now contributes to the long-term stability of the company. I Am A: Neutral Good Human Wizard (4th Level) Ability Scores:Strength-10 Dexterity-12 Constitution-10 Intelligence-16 Wisdom-14 Charisma-12 Alignment:Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable. Race:Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like. Class:Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.
